In other words, how will the Beijing Olympics NOT benefit China?
1. the economic benefits of the Olympics are short term, are they not? In fact, after the Olympics, there will be so many excess hotels and businesses that they’ll have to drive prices down.
2. the pollution- currently the CCP is improving air condition in Beijing. Will they continue to do so AFTER the olympics?
3. sociopolitical- no one in rural china cares about the olympics, it’s only widening wealth gap anyways
4. will people think more highly of china after the olympics?
5. any other important points?

NOPE.
They are trying to build buildings really fast to prepare, but they are only building them to last a few years so they are wasting tons of money.
Well it will increase revenue for businesses in the short run, and that is a good thing even if short lived right?
And yes it can improve public opinion of China.
Chinese companies will get a chance to market their products to a global market.
Sure it will benifit! they are doing a lot to clean things up just for that.. and as for people in china not caring, most the people who live in bejing I know are VERY excited about the olympics.
benifits are long term, cause they improve roads, traffic, theres new buildings, ect.
I dont think peoples view on china will change much,
I think it will benefit china greatly because people love watching the olympics. Plus, there have been tons of commercials about it!
By today’s standards, the Olympics is totally an economic venture. The selected country is required to build suitable structures but the bottom line is “money making” scheme for the country that hosts it. Pure economics. All the other factors merely sell papers which is good fodder for posterity.
China Beijiing will have better accessible transport for people
with disabilities.
pollution been cleaned up
The speacial Olympic which where last year in China helped Chinses with Intellectual diability.
So the Olympic and Paralympic will benefit China.
it should do as after the Olympic they can use the stadiums to host other would events that will help them to bring in money
