I’m beginning to look into potential places to stay in Beijing when I go there to attend the summer games in 2008. I’ve been looking at craigslist.com to get some ideas. Ads show places like Chaoyang, Guo Mao, Jianguomen, and Haidian. Are these streets or districts within the city? Does anyone know of districts that are close to the Olympic village or olympic green? I’ve looked at the emap on the beijing olympic website, can’t seem to figure out where any of these places are. I am open to renting an apartment temporarily, hostel, or hotel/motel room. Any advice or recommendations, websites, would be great! Thank you!

I have stayed at the Crown plaza and it is nice. You can walk to the Tieneman square and the forbiden city also mcdonalds and pizza hut are just down the street. I would imagine costs are going to be through the roof during that time period though.
Those are all street names. I’ve been to Beijing twice and the last time we went we stayed at the Far East Hostel run by Hostelling International. The prices weren’t bad, the food was good and it’s in a good location.
